The Northern Irish College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) has set a deadline for applications for its Agricultural Business Operations (Level II Certificate) course for 4:00pm on Thursday, August 24, 2017.

The classes are set to start in early October and will run on a weekly basis for 20 weeks. All of the classes will be based in one of the three CAFRE campuses – Greenmount, Loughry and Enniskillen.

Classes will be sector based, and are available for: beef; dairy; sheep; crops; poultry; and arable/commercial horticulture.

A range of evenings – Monday to Thursday – will be available for the courses but facilitators have warned that choices will become more limited as classes fill up.

CAFRE has advised to book early to ensure getting the training event which best suits one’s needs. The cost of the course is £150 (€165), payable to CAFRE Finance Administration at Greenmount Campus by Thursday, August 24, 2017.

Further details about how to pay the course fee will be provided when places are booked, according to the college.

The CAFRE Agricultural Business Operations (Level II Certificate) qualification meets the agricultural training eligibility requirements for the Young Farmers’ Payment/Regional Reserve Scheme, the college has confirmed.

Enrolments received after 4pm on August 24 may not be eligible for entry to the 2017/18 programme. Places can be booked on the CAFRE website.
