FrieslandCampina has set a guaranteed price for raw milk of €30.00 per 100kg of milk for December 2015, the equivalent of 29.00c/L.

The guaranteed price for December has increased by 0.25c compared to November (€29.75).

The increase of the guaranteed price is due to a positive correction, according to FrieslandCampina.

In the last two months, FrieslandCampina stated that a number of reference companies paid higher milk prices than estimated.

It attributes this as a result of the increase in the prices of consumer milk, especially products in some western European countries.

It also states that because of the high milk supply there remains pressure on the markings of most dairy products.

The protein price in December 2015 is €489.72, the fat price is €244.86 and the lactose price is €48.97per 100kg.

Over the whole of 2015 the guaranteed price will be €30.60 on average, FrieslandCampina has said.

In 2014, the guaranteed price was €39.38 and the milk price was €42.70 (guaranteed price, performance payment, meadow milk premium, special supplements and the reservation of member bonds).

The guaranteed price applies to 100kg of milk with a protein content of 3.47%, a fat content of 4.41% and a lactose content of 4.51% and is exclusive of VAT. The amounts shown apply to an average supply of 600,000kg of milk annually.
