10 sheep killed in Borders worrying incident

Police are appealing for witnesses after 10 sheep were killed in a suspected livestock worrying incident in the Scottish Borders.

The incident is thought to have taken place between 8:30am on the April 15, and 8:30am on April 16 at Halmyre Mains Farm, West Linton.

Witness Appeal

A spokesman for Scottish Borders Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses to this incident or anyone who may have information in relation to this incident.

“If you have information, you can contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting Incident 866 April 16, 2020. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers Anonymously on: 0800-555-111.

Dog owners are asked to be aware of the effects of sheep-worrying, and let others know too. Make sure you know where your dog is at all times.

“If you’re letting your dog off the lead be confident there are no livestock nearby. Be sure that your dog will return to you promptly on command and if in doubt, keep them on the lead.”
