Lincolnshire Police’s rural crime action team has arrested three offenders following reports of hare coursing.

In a Facebook post yesterday (Tuesday, November 30), the team said that the offenders tried to get away on foot, but “couldn’t get away from our dog handlers and their four-legged friends as well as other officers”.

Hare carcasses were found in the vehicle used by the offenders, which was reported to the police for driving dangerously and suspicious activity by other road users.

“Just another example of the lack of respect hare coursers have for the safety of other road users driving in a dangerous manner whether challenged by police or not,” the team said.

The vehicle was seized by police.

Lincolnshire police also seized the four dogs involved in the hare coursing.

The rural crime action team shared images of the dogs on social media, and said that they show “the poor condition and abuse some of these dogs are in when seized by police”.

The team thanked its dog handler colleagues for helping with the arrests and seizes.
