New Holland Agriculture has appointed Rea Valley Tractors Ltd. to its dealer network with effect from November 1.

Rea Valley Tractors’ partnership with New Holland will cover the existing depots in Shrewsbury and Newport in Shropshire and Welshpool in Powys, as well as new branches to cover their increased territory in Middlewich Cheshire, Denbigh North Wales and Ormskirk South Lancashire.

Steve Petford, Rea Valley Tractors managing director said:

“The decision to join New Holland Agriculture was taken after discussions concerning the long-term development of the company with our current tractor supplier.

“It meant effectively either down-sizing or selling the business, scenarios that were emphatically opposed by chairman and main shareholder Simon Clarke, not least because of the impact on jobs.”

Rea Valley Tractors chairman Simon Clarke commented:

“This is a new dawn for us. After 38 years, we are really excited by the opportunity not only for the business but our customers alike by supplying and servicing machinery from a world-class British manufacturer.

“Combined with our skilled workforce, knowledge of the area and drive to move our business forward, the future is tremendously exciting.”

Pat Smith, New Holland business director for the UK and Ireland said:

“The teams have worked really hard to make sure the customer is at the forefront of this change, during the last few months we have been very impressed with the professionalism and attention to detail that the team have shown.”
