Massey Ferguson’s newest tractor, the 7S Mark 2 series, will not hit the production line until early 2027 - but Agriland has already had a first look.

Massey Ferguson has expanded its tractor line-up with the new 7S Mark 2 series, comprising six models ranging from 170 to 245hp.

The new range does not replace the 7S but sits alongside it, bridging the gap between the 7S and larger 8S Xtra models.

According to the Massey Ferguson sales director for Europe and the Middle East, Marco Lombardi, the 7S Mark 2 is "an additional series to our offering".

Lombardi said: "It compliments the offering in this category, so it's not the evolution of the MF 7S, and it's not replacing any existing model.

"We are sure that the 7S Mark 2 is introducing a real step forward in styling, comfort and technology."

Engine and transmission

The 7S Mark 2 comes with AGCO Power's Core75 engine, which has been paired with the ML180 Dyna-VT continuously variable transmission (CVT).

It is a striking combination, bringing together two components with a history that has never crossed paths before.

The Core75 was developed specifically for the Fendt 700 Vario Gen7 tractors, while the ML180 comes straight out of the 700 Vario Gen6 tractors.

The six-cylinder, 7.5L AGCO Power Core75 engine received the prestigious Engine of the Year award in 2023 at the annual Diesel Progress Summit.

The CVT offers a maximum speed of 57km/h, emergency brake features, and a new automatic parking brake system as standard.

A four-speed power-take-off (PTO) comes standard with high-capacity hydraulics, delivering a maximum hydraulic oil flow of up to 190L per minute.

Cab

The 7S Mark 2 features a redesigned version of the popular MF 8S cab, retaining the 3.4m³ interior space.

The cab also includes the 6.6m² glass area and Protect-U design, which provides 15cm of space separating the cab and the engine.

This is intended to improve visibility while reducing noise, vibration, and heat transmission for anyone operating it.

The new Datatronic 6 display is included in the new cab, featuring a 12in touchscreen terminal that is double the size of the previous Datatronic 5 system.

The Datatronic 6 boasts a higher resolution, limitless user profiles and tiled carousels that can be customised to user comfort, being able to show a map, data management, and guidance technology.

The tractor can come with up to four cameras, including front and rear units along with cameras for position on the tractor or trailer and implements.

LED lighting is standard, with four upgrade packages, including a maximum 27 LED lights, which positions eight on the bonnet and 19 on the cab.

Plenty of built-in storage can be also found; a factory-installed phone holder for mounting on the armrest or terminal rail comes with the cab; and there is also the option of a fridge.

Precision capabilities

The 7S Mark 2 tractors will be the first with PTx's FarmENGAGE system supplied from the factory.

The next-gen farm operations management software is compatible with all farm machinery brands.

It wirelessly transfers data for management and monitoring through the integrated telemetry system, while all tractor, machinery, field, cropping and task management data can be shared by USB or through the cloud.

All 7S Mark 2 models have access to Massey Ferguson’s full technology package, and a range of MF By You options.

There are also customer services such as MF Care, AGCO Finance, AGCO Parts, the MF Always Running courtesy fleet, and MF How To online video tutorials.

Production for the line is starting in the first quarter of 2027, however, the machine will be debuting at the international trade show for farm machinery, EIMA 2026 in Bologna, Italy from November 10-14.

First deliveries of the Massey Ferguson 7S Mark 2 are set to start in spring 2027.
