Equipment from Trouw Nutrition Belfast plant offered in auction

Production equipment from Trouw Nutrition's Belfast manufacturing plant is to be sold at auction following the closure of the facility last month.

The online auction, hosted by NCM, features complete dosing, mixing, bulk handling, bagging and palletising systems.

The lots also include 35-tonne bulk dosing silos, bulk bag silos, Guttridge conveyors, weighing and ingredient handling equipment, Robopac pallet wrapping equipment and a range of supporting production and factory assets.

Many of the larger systems are being offered both as complete lines and through their individual component lots.

According to NCM, this opens the sale to businesses looking for a complete production setup as well as those adding or upgrading individual pieces of equipment.

Amy Rutherford, partnerships lead at NCM, said the sale includes "a significant collection of production equipment".

"These are complete dosing, mixing, bagging and palletising lines which could be relevant to feed manufacturers, premix and powdered nutrition producers, fertiliser businesses and other bulk material handling operations.

"With machinery of this scale, finding the right buyer is particularly important," she said.

"The Belfast location also makes this particularly relevant to manufacturers across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, and we’re actively speaking to businesses across the wider UK and European feed and bulk processing industries too," Rutherford added.

The sale follows Trouw Nutrition’s decision earlier this year to close its production plant in Northern Ireland.

The animal nutrition company, which is a division of Nutreco, said it would remain “fully operational” in Ireland, despite closing its Belfast production plant on Ship Street on September 30.

The company said its commercial, sales, technical support and customer relationship teams would continue to “operate as normal” from its office in Belfast’s Clarendon Dock.

Interested bidders can view the complete catalogue and register to bid online now, the auction is due to end at 1:00p.m on November 4.
