One man has died and another 42-year-old man has been seriously injured in a farm incident in Wales.

Dyfed-Powys Police has said it is investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, which occurred at a farm in the Aberhosan area of Machynlleth.

The circumstances surrounding the man’s death however, are not being treated as suspicious.

The Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that it was called to a collapsed grain silo in connection with the death of the man and the serious injuries of another at around 5.00p.m on Friday (February 17).

The rescue service said crews from Machynlleth, Aberystwyth, Llanidloes, Pontardawe, and Carmarthen attended the scene of the collapsed grain silo, as well as police and ambulance services.

The Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the final crews left the scene around 9.00a.m on Saturday morning (February 18).

The Health and Safety Executive has said that it “visited the farm on Saturday with Dyfed-Powys Police, who are leading the investigation”.

Dyfed-Powys Police added that its “thoughts are with the family who are receiving specialist support”.
