The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has confirmed that it is currently investigating an incident where a slurry tanker overturned on a roundabout in Co. Armagh.

The “damage-only road traffic collision” involved a tractor that was towing a slurry tanker on the Stonebridge roundabout yesterday (Wednesday, May 13), according to the PSNI.

Officers at the scene stated that the slurry tanker “went on its side at the roundabout”, which links Dobbin Road and Portadown Road.

PSNI noted that “enquiries remain ongoing at this time.”

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart alerted her constituents regarding the overturned slurry tanker, advising them to steer clear of the roundabout shortly after the incident.

She confirmed police and recovery services attended the scene yesterday and warned motorists of delays.

Separately, PSNI attended another collision last month which involved a stolen car towing a trailer full of a livestock and a children’s school bus in Co. Armagh as well.

Police were made aware by a member of the public that their Toyota Landcruiser, cattle trailer, and cattle had been stolen from a property in Jonesborough on Tuesday, April 28.

Local PSNI officers in the Slieve Gullion area “responded quickly” to the incident, with the assistance of a team from Ardmore Station, with the joint effort resulting in the stolen vehicle being located “a short time later”.

Police at the scene became aware that the Toyota Landcrusier had been involved in a road traffic collision with a children’s school bus in the Silverbridge area.

PSNI outlined that the farmer’s trailer and cattle were also located “a short distance away” from the crash.

The incident resulted in the arrest of a male suspect for a number of motoring offences.

In addition to the arrest, PSNI confirmed that another vehicle, which was involved in the theft of the Toyota Landcruiser, was subsequently seized in the Newtownhamilton area one day later (Wednesday, April 29).

“We are committed to tackling ongoing burglaries and thefts,” PSNI stated in a social media post following the incident.
