The Breeder’s Choice Summer Selection Sale kicks of later (Friday, July 4) at 7:00p.m under the UK-based livestock traders, Harrison and Hetherington.
The sale will run from 7:00p.m today until to 7:00p.m Sunday, July 6 with a selection of rams and ewes on offer.Purchasers must be registered with MartEye prior to bidding.
Harrison and Hetherington has said that each lot will be sold in British pounds sterling (£) and will incur a buyer’s premium of 5.5%.
The sale will be carried out in a timed auction format, with farmers able to place either maximum bids or quick bids.
There are 30 lots up for sale, with the majority of sheep coming from champion-winning bloodlines.
What’s on offer?
The majority of the sale will consist of ewe lambs, with dates of birth ranging between January 1, 2025 and April 25, 2025.
Harrison and Hetherington has said that 13 out of the 30 registered lots are Suffolk ewe lambs.
Many of these ewe lambs are the progeny of champions and pedigree breeders such as Kilduff Destiny, who relates to Craigdoo Clikety Clik who has bred numerous pedigree rams.
There are also 13 Blue Texels up for sale, eight of which are ewe lambs as well as three of the only yearling ewes up for sale.
There are only two ram lambs in the sale, and they are both Blue Texels, one of which will be sold in lot 23 and the other in lot 24.
There are three Badger Face Texels up for sale, two of which are full sisters to Powerful Jeronimo, the male national Champion Dassenkop 2025.
The other Badger Face Texel was bred to a champion winning sire and a champion winning dam.
There is one hybrid lamb on offer at the sale, Cracking Jasmine, who is a purebred Texel sired by Cracking Delboy, the winner of the commercial Blue Texel lamb class in Athlone 2025.
