Dewulf's  major changes to its ZB2 harvester, its two-row bunker machine that now enjoys greater capacity and is claimed to be even more gentle with the crop.

The ZB2 top lifting harvester offers a major leap forward in capacity and flexibility, with the biggest improvement being its new bunker, according to Dewulf.

Based on the design of the R3060, the company’s two-row sieving harvester, the upgraded bunker boasts a capacity of 10m3, a 10% increase over the previous version.

This latest bunker has a fixed front section, which means it no longer needs to be fully raised for unloading. This allows for simultaneous harvesting and unloading without interrupting the lifting process.

Easier unloading

The maximum discharge height is 4,100mm and the minimum 1,480mm, while the discharge point has been repositioned 1m further from the machine.

This provides additional space between the harvester and transfer trailer for smoother logistics.

The discharge conveyor to the bunker was also redesigned. It now includes an additional foldable section that allows the bunker to fold in.

The latest ZB2 from Dewulf can run on either wheels or tracks at the rear, which are said to be easily interchangeable

This new ZB2 version features a three degree reduction in lifting web inclination, which improves capacity and ensures a more gentle handling of the product, according to Dewulf.

The harvesting belt units of the ZB2 have also been upgraded with a new upper frame and the same reversible cutter set used in the company’s latest harvesters.

An extra platform added at the rear of the machine provides easy access to the cutter sets, significantly improving ease of maintenance.

Stable depth

For harvesting in challenging conditions, Dewulf offers an improved optional sieving harvesting unit made up of two sections, including an extra drop for enhanced cleaning.

The suspension with two cylinders ensures the unit remains stable and precisely maintains the required harvesting depth.

In addition, the sieving web now consists of three belts, which are tensioned at three locations to prevent slippage and extend service life.

Tracks or wheels from Dewulf

The rear axle of the ZB2 has also been modified to accommodate either triangular tracks (90cm) or wheels.

The steering remains fixed at 12 degrees, regardless of the configuration, and switching between tracks and wheels (or vice versa) is said to be a simple operation due to the placing of spacers between the axle and machine frame.

According to the company, this latest version of the ZB2 retains its proven cleaning capacity with two hedgehog units and Dewulf’s own ‘Floating Share’ system for stable harvesting at any speed.
