Meat Business Women, a global networking group for women working in the meat industry, has appointed Rebecca Fearon as its first membership marketing manager.

Fearon, who grew up on a dairy farm in South Cumbria, left her position as marketing manager (commercial and events team) at Agriconnect for her new role that commenced earlier this week, on November 8.

She is UK-based but will have oversight across all of Meat Business Women’s marketing globally.

At Meat Business Women, she will work to fulfill the growing global demand for Meat Business Women’s services and further increase its public profile, reach and membership by managing the marketing and communications strategy across the organisation.

She will also consult closely with members and corporate supporters to further expand membership services.

“I first became aware of Meat Business Women a couple of years ago and have watched what the organisation does ever since,” Fearon said.

I loved that they were way ahead of the game in terms of promoting gender equality and diversity in the workplace.

“Having grown up in the industry, it’s so exciting to be part of an organisation that is promoting positive change and changing perceptions. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone I’m going to be working with and alongside. People are what makes our industry so special, so I’m excited for this.”

Commenting on her appointment, Meat Business Women founder and global chair Laura Ryan said: “It’s great to have Rebecca on board as we prepare for the next phase of our mission to empower women in the global meat sector.

With her deep knowledge of food and farming, track record in marketing and passion for championing women, Rebecca is the perfect fit for Meat Business Women.

“We can’t wait to introduce her to our members.”
