The British Growers Association (BGA) has taken over the organising of the 2024 Oxford Farming Conference (OFC) following the retirement of the previous secretariat.

The 2024 OFC, which has taken the theme ‘The Power of Diversity’, will take place from January 3-5, 2024.

Managing director of the BGA, Lisa Eagles, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been given the opportunity to work with The Oxford Farming Conference, a prestigious annual event which brings together the farming industry to discuss and debate big issues.

“The Oxford Farming Conference secretariat appointment enhances our portfolio of clients and we look forward to developing a strong partnership.”

Client manager for the BGA, Pauline Sutton, is heading up the secretariat team which is responsible for administration, ticket sales and outreach programmes as well as the wider organisation administration and management of the voluntary board.

OFC 2024

‘The Power of Diversity’ theme for OFC 2024 aims to celebrate all aspects of diversity – people, farming systems, genetics, and markets.

“True to the mission of the OFC, it will also explore the diversity of thought and opinion,” organisers said.

Chair of OFC 2024, Welsh beef and arable farmer Will Evans, praised British Growers for taking on the “key role” of conference secretariat.

“I’m delighted to be working with British Growers. They bring a wealth of experience to this key role and it’s great to know that with them at the helm all the information will be in place for a fantastic conference,” he said.

“I truly believe we have so much to celebrate and share around the theme of diversity – our huge range of entrepreneurial farming businesses which have done so much to shape our historic landscape, our many native livestock breeds, our world-leading agricultural scientists and some of the safest and highest quality food produced anywhere in the world, to name just a few.

“But most of all, it’s the incredible people in farming that make it such a special industry to be a part of, and this is what we want to celebrate at OFC24.”
