Cheshire Agricultural Trade Fair to take place in January

On Thursday, January 28, 2021, the Cheshire Agricultural Society is set to kickstart the year with a brand-new event – The Cheshire Agricultural Trade Fair.

After a year of cancelled events, show director of The Cheshire Agricultural Society, Rob Davenport, wanted to set up an event to help get farmers and rural businesses back out and about.

He said:

“As farmers we have continued to work all hours throughout the pandemic, alongside rural businesses; early mornings and late nights in what is already a very isolated industry, continuing to provide food for the nation.

Typically, we only tend to get together at livestock markets and shows that come round once a year, so without these events, many of us have struggled to get out at all.

“As we look to the new year, we’re hoping for a nice, sunny but crisp day towards the end of January at a time when the agricultural calendar is that little bit quieter.”

A Covid-19 secure event

The Cheshire Agricultural Trade Fair is an outdoor agricultural event for farmers which is free to attend.

Located on the 300ac Cheshire County Show Ground, Tabley, Knutsford, there are good roadways and flat ground to enable social distancing under Covid-19 restrictions.

Davenport would like to invite farmers, agricultural and rural businesses to get involved in this special event:

We need to come together as an industry, as a community. We’d like to hope that people will support the event, for suppliers to meet clients, farmers to see friends and support each other.

This will be a free event to farmers but will require all attendees to register prior to the event to adhere to Covid-19 restrictions and limit numbers attending.
