A man has died following an incident on a farm in Co. Tyrone today (Thursday, March 19).

The Police Service of Northern Ireland and other emergency services attended the scene of the incident in the Drumenny Road area of Cookstown earlier today.

It was confirmed that a 999 call was made to the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) at 08:45 this morning.

It is understood that the NIAS dispatched two emergency ambulances, one Rapid Response Paramedic and the Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board.

Farm

The Health and Safety Executive was also informed of the incident at the farm.

The Sinn Féin Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Linda Dillon has expressed her shock and sadness after the death of the man in the rural townland of Ardboe.

The Mid Ulster MLA said: “I want to express my thoughts and condolences to the family of this man who has died in the most tragic of circumstances, their hearts will be breaking right now.

“This is a tragedy and has provoked a real sense of shock and sadness across the community.

“In what will be devastating days to come, I know people will rally around to support the family through their grief.”
