Firefighters called to the scene of blazing barn
Firefighters were called to the scene of a blaze on a farm in Devon where a barn which held around 200t of hay had caught fire.
Fire crews were called to the scene at around 3:00pm on Wednesday, October 21, and found a hay barn alight.
The fire was found to be in the centre of the stacked hay and the farmer removed bales with a teleporter in order to give fire crews better access.
Fire appliances from three different stations were used to bring the blaze under control.
Appeal for information
Police are appealing for information after a man in his 40s was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after he collided with a tractor on the A56 near Accrington.
The driver of a Ford Fiesta collided with a John Deere tractor around 4:35pm on October 20.
The driver of the Fiesta was the sole occupant of the vehicle, while the driver of the John Deere was uninjured.
The road was closed for several hours while investigations took place.
Sergeant Phil Baxendale, of the Lancashire Police TacOps team, said:
This was a serious collision which has left a man in hospital fighting for his life and we send him our very best wishes for a full recovery.
“We have a team working hard to establish exactly what occurred and we are asking anybody with information to get in touch with us straight away.
“Perhaps you have dashcam footage that captures either the collision or captures the Fiesta or the tractor in the moments before, or maybe you witnessed something you think might be relevant. Whatever information you have, please tell us.”
Anybody with information is asked to get in touch on 101, quoting log number 1024 of October 20.
