The Irish Holstein Friesian Association presented 84-year-old farmer John Codd from Rathdrum, Co Wicklow, a Hall of Fame Award last month in recognition of his lifelong dairy farming abilities.

Codd is still actively dairy farming with his son Richard.

They currently milk 70 cows and rear all the followers.

He is a keen showman, still showing and a great judge of stock, according to the association. Cows have been milked on his farm since the early 1920s.

The National Hall of Fame awards are held annually by the Irish Holestein Friesian Association.
