Organisers of UK arable show CropTec say the physical event is still set to go ahead for 2020.

It comes just a day after the Royal Highland and Agricultural Show Society, which runs AgriScot, announced plans to cancel the Ingliston event planned for this November.

It comes as the government has given approval for business events and conferences to proceed in England from October 1.


CropTec is typically attended by around 5,000 people. Around 170 companies are expected to showcase the latest arable technology, and agronomy and best business practice.

The show is planned to take place at East of England Showground in Peterborough on Wednesday and Thursday, November 25 and 26, 2020.

The event will run in accordance with the latest UK Government and Public Health England recommendations regarding Covid-secure business-to-business trade exhibitions.

The show management is working closely with the East of England Showground and the exhibitions industry to ensure the latest advice and best practice is being followed.

“The venue has been at the forefront of planning for outdoor and indoor events as part of the industry associations’ working with the government,” said Jason Lunn, venue director at the East of England Arena and Events Centre.

This year’s event will once again bring together the best and brightest in arable farming, providing key take-home, practical messages to develop on-farm.

As social distancing measures will reduce ticket availability, the CropTec Show is increasing its focus on digital content, also making seminars, hub talks and other content available online.
