Surrey Police is investigating the deaths of several lambs after they were run over with a vehicle at a farm in Bramley.

A vehicle is believed to have driven onto the property overnight between Wednesday, January 17 and Thursday, January 18.

A 15-year-old boy from Redhill has been arrested on suspicion of two counts of criminal damage and Surrey Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Waverley neighbourhood Sgt. Phil Bayman said: “This incident is extremely unusual, and we appreciate that it will have caused considerable distress to the owner of the farm and within the wider community.

“We would like to reassure you that we are taking this seriously and doing everything we can to bring those responsible to justice.

“We are asking anyone with any information, including anyone who witnessed the incident, or with any other information, particularly anyone who may have seen a damaged vehicle in the area around the time of the offence, to come forward as soon as possible.

“We are also looking for any dashcam or CCTV footage which may help our investigation.”

Dorset cows

Last week, fire crews from Dorchester assisted in the rescuing of six cows from an underground slurry pit on a farm near Water Barn Track.

The farmer reported that the cows had been trapped in the slurry pit for a couple of hours after falling through an inspection cover.

The incident occurred on Thursday (January 19), with specialist technical rescue teams from Weymouth and Poole also called to assist in the rescue.

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said the cows were “safely rescued from their predicament” with the help of farm machinery and using animal rescue strops.
