Massey Ferguson's new 7S Mark 2 tractor will be the first to come with AGCO and PTx's FarmEngage data management system from the factory.
The FarmEngage system facilitates farmers in generating, sharing and managing their data efficiently while also simplifying mixed-fleet management to make better-informed decisions.
The new Massey Ferguson 7S Mark 2 will be fitted with the technology as standard, while users of existing tractors will have a retrofit option.
PTx FarmEngage connects directly to Massey Ferguson terminals, as well as other brand machines with PTx Trimble GFX displays regardless of age.
Agricultural operators using the John Deere ecosystem can link John Deere Operations Centre for smooth data sharing.
Through application programming interface (API) integration, PTx FarmEngage is also compatible with other farm management systems, simplifying its adoption across mixed-branded fleets.
The aim is to gather data across all brands and types of farm machine fleets (whether that be different brands, older tractors paired with new ones, etc.) and place it in a single easy-to-access ecosystem.
FarmEngage is pitched by PTx as a tool that can tidy up a fleet's computer usage and streamline the data that every tractors terminal display is collecting for exponentially more efficient farming.
Field data that can be gathered and shared across FarmEngage machines includes boundaries and waylines, while also being displayed in several formats.
AGCO believes that this consistent data allows operators to better understand the land they are working, which when combined with automated tasks can optimise working behaviour.
FarmEngage may highlight to an operator that they have inefficiencies in how they are working a certain field, and then go about improving those.
The fleet management capabilities of FarmEngage are notable, and may be a gamechanger specifically for larger operations and for agricultural contractors going forward.
FarmEngage facilitates the analysis of telemetry data, such as fuel consumption, fuel level and working hours remotely.
Additionally, those with access to the system can view where a machine is and how many acres it has left to do on a job.
Tractor, implement and field data can be transferred through the cloud via FarmEngage's Connectivity Centre or via a USB stick.
While FarmEngage is not new, the 7S Mark 2 is the first time the system has come factory installed on a Massey Ferguson tractor.
FarmEngage will also be becoming standard on all Massey Ferguson six-cylinder tractors from Q1 2027.
It appears that this FarmEngage integration with the 7S Mark 2 is only the beginning, as Valtra's Gen 6 T-series tractors will also come with FarmEngage integrated.
The PTx system comes free-of-charge for five years, before then costing a set price annually per machine.
It can be assumed that this model of factory-integrated precision agriculture subscription services will continue to grow amongst AGCO's brands.
Precision agricultural solutions have become more and more popular in recent years, so FarmEngage combined with a new MidPower Tractor Of The Year (TOTY) contender provides a powerful combination.
A deeper dive into the tractor can be seen here, while details of the redesigned 8S cab on the 7S Mark 2 are outlined here.
The basic rundown of the tractor is that it ranges from 170-245hp and offers a torque range of 815-1,184Nm at 1,500rpm.
The tractor has a rear lift capacity of 9,600kg and front lift capacity of 4,000kg.
With a diesel tank of 410L and AdBlue resevoir of 56.5L, the new machine equipped with the AGCO Power Core75 engine and ML180 transmission has plenty of bells and whistles that make it really impressive even before PTx FarmEngage is taken into account.
