The UK Met Office has named the second storm of the season as Storm Boelo is expected to bring strong winds this weekend across Northern Ireland, Scotland and parts of northern England.
The deep area of low pressure is forecast to bring impactful winds on Saturday night and through Sunday.
The UK Met Office said that the system will be "invigorated by an active jet stream" as it crosses the Atlantic before reaching Northern Ireland and western Scotland on Saturday afternoon.
A Yellow warning for wind has been issued for Northern Ireland from 6:00p.m on Saturday to 3:00p.m on Sunday.
The storm is expected to bring widespread gusts of 50-60mph across Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Derry and Tyrone, with up to 65-75mph in exposed regions.
A separate Yellow warning for wind has been issued for Scotland, the Western Isles, Orkney and the far north of England.
That warning, which is valid from 6:00p.m on Saturday to 9:00p.m Sunday, details widespread gusts of 55-65mph widely and up to 70-80mph in more exposed coastal locations.
Storm Boelo [pronounced Boo-loh] is a separate low pressure system to Storm Austen which will bring strong wind and heavy rain to southern parts of Ireland and the UK tonight (Thursday, October 22) and Friday.
Storm Austen is forecast to clear into the North Sea by Friday evening.
"Storm Boelo will bring strong winds and heavy rain to Northern Ireland, Scotland and parts of northern England over the weekend, impacting the opposite end of the country to Storm Austen," Chris Bulmer, UK Met Office deputy chief forecaster, said.
"Gusts of 70-80mph in exposed coastal areas and high ground are possible, with 50-60mph gusts more widely.
"The strong winds will be accompanied by heavy rain, making for an impactful weekend of weather.
"Severe weather warnings and forecast detail will continue to develop, so people should keep up to date with the forecast over the next few days," Bulmer added.
Meanwhile, Met Éireann has warned that Storm Austen will bring "intense" rain and strong winds when it arrives later today.
A Status Orange rainfall warning has been issued for counties Cork, Kerry and Waterford, which will be the first counties to be impacted by the heavy rain.
The warning will come into force at 10:00p.m tonight and remain in place until 5:00a.m on Friday.
