Aurivo, one of Ireland’s leading agri-businesses, has put plans in motion to carry out a €5m investment in its facilities in Co. Roscommon.

The company, headquartered in the north-west of Ireland, recently announced an extensive four-year development plan for its dairy ingredients facility in Ballaghaderreen.

Aurivo is an agricultural co-operative with business interests in dairy ingredients, consumer foods, agri-stores, animal feed milling, as well as livestock marts and trading.

The development, which is an upgrade programme of four phases up to 2020, will see the creation of a modern, state-of-the art production facility.

The first phase of the construction project is already underway and involves the construction of the modern, fit-for-purpose personnel facility.

The construction of new access corridors into the processing plants and finished product laboratories as well, as new visitor facilities, will also be included in the first phase.

It is hoped that the new facility will enable new product development as well as furthering the position of the co-op to meet global demand and anticipated market growth, according to company CEO Aaron Forde.

“With an increasing demand for enriched milk powders and butter on the global market, the €5 million investment programme over the next four years by Aurivo will work to meet these demands and grow our business even further on the global stage,” he siad.

Aurivo has engaged local construction company Kenaidan Contractors Ltd as the contractors for the new development.

Meanwhile, Eugene Waldron of Waldron and Associates, based in Claremorris, Co. Mayo, has been appointed by the co-op as the Project Management Engineer on the site.
