Levity Crop Science, the Lancashire-based ‘smart’ fertiliser company, has announced the appointment of Charlie Bannister as technical consultant.

Bannister will provide technical support and consultancy for Levity’s unique range of foliar nutrient products, with specific responsibilities for the UK and Northern Europe.

Anna Weston, joint managing director of Levity Crop Science, said:

“Charlie’s in-depth technical knowledge, enthusiasm and experience in foliar crop nutrition fits well with our science and technically focused approach.

“We are keen to make full use of his knowledge and experience in developing our business in the UK and Northern Europe,” she said.

“Levity Crop Science has a unique range of products, backed by an innovative and sound scientific attitude, a strong technical foundation and a deep understanding of foliar crop nutrition,” Bannister said.

“Coupled with its in-house research skills and excellent glasshouse facilities I think there is great potential to benefit farmers in the UK and Northern Europe. I am really looking forward to developing the business over the next few years.”

From a general farming background and with a particular passion for arable agriculture, Bannister brings more than three decades of experience to his role in the Levity team.

He previously held commercial and technical positions for companies such as Cyanamid Agriculture, Headland and Cheminova.
