A bull in New Zealand maybe the shortest bull in the world, standing at just 28 inches tall from hoof to withers, beating the current record by two inches.

However, the miniature Hereford, Galloway, Dexter mix bull must wait until September 2017, when he turns two-years-old, to claim the Guinness World Record.

The tiny bull, named Charlie, is owned by Anne Barnes who runs Waitomo Big Bird Bed and Breakfast and Miniature Animal Petting Farm.

The tiny bull’s parents included a random beef heifer and a miniature bull, which was just 31.5 inches tall, according to Barnes.

The farm is located on the North Island and is a popular tourist destination in the area.

Meanwhile, the farm is also home to a number of other miniature animals including horses, donkeys, alpacs, llamas, sheep, goats and highland cattle.

Visitors can also get up close and personal with an Ostrich and can even purchase Ostrich eggs.

Current Shortest Bull in the World

The current holder of the Guinness World Record for the shortest bull in the world is a miniature bull in Northern Ireland named Archie.

In September 2012, the Dexter bull was awarded the title standing at just 30 inches tall, 15 inches shorter than other bulls of his breed.

The bull is owned by student and farmer Ryan Lavery, from Co. Antrim, who bought the bull at just five months old.

Originally destined for beef production, the Dexter bull, failed to grow any taller and so he became a family pet.

Despite the bull being one of the smallest animals on the farm he can still be a little temperamental, according to Lavery.
