The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) has said that the next webinar in its series of international pig clubs will take it to China.

The webinar will take place on Monday, March 27, 2023, from 1.00pm until 2.00pm and its aim, AHDB said, is to connect attendees and teach them more about the pork sector in China.

AHDB said the webinar will feature information on China’s pork production methods as well as its genetics, marketing, public perceptions, health issues and government support.

The webinar will feature the deputy secretary of the China Meat Association, Michelle Hu.

AHDB said the Covid-19 pandemic forced it to utilise technology to connect with its members, and that this is has directly resulted in the wide range of topics it can now cover through webinars.

“Throughout the pandemic we were all forced to find new ways of working,” it said.

“One of the success stories from this was the possibilities that virtual discussion groups and webinars offered.

“During one such meeting, not only was the concept of using technology reach a wider audience discussed, but also the opportunity it could offer to engage with and learn from pig producers around the world.”

The board said webinar attendees will be able to ask questions during the webinar, which will also be recorded and shared after the event. Registration for the webinar can be done via the AHDB website.
