Love wine? Love ice cream? Now you can have the two combined!
If you’re a fan of ice cream and wine, you’re in luck as a company in the US has created a range of wine flavoured ice cream.
Mercer’s Dairy has been on the go since the 1950’s but in 2006 it says it mastered the art of blending ice cream and wine to create wine ice cream.
According to the company’s website, each wine is hand-picked and blended with only the freshest ingredients.
There are eight flavours in the ice cream range which contain 15% butterfat with 5% alcohol by volume:
Mercer’s Dairy has chosen a Merlot wine recognized for its plum and black cherry undertones, and accentuated it with plum Bordeaux cherries.
Rich…a chocolate lover’s dream.
It has united a Cabernet wine filled with dried cherry and cassis notes with our chocolate ice cream filled with bits of bittersweet chocolate morsels.
Peach White Zinfandel
The dairy has hand-picked a White Zinfandel distinguished for its fruity undertones and pleasant finish and blended it with succulent ripe peaches.
For the original creation, Mercer’s Dairy discovered an award-winning Ruby Port appreciated for its luxurious, heavily-bodied flavor and velvety smoothness.
Red Raspberry Chardonnay
An oak-aged Chardonnay, known for its delicate vanilla nose and buttery smooth taste, paired with fresh red raspberries.
It has selected a dry white wine, prized for its fruity, crisp, effervescent quality and well-balanced taste.
The dairy selected a fragrant red mulled wine known for its moderate sweetness balanced with the warmth of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove.
Mercer’s Dairy uncorked a sweet champagne and paired it perfectly with strawberries.
While there is no wholesale distributor here in Ireland, you can always try ordering it through The Netherlands!
