Police in Nottinghamshire are looking to speak to a group of individuals after quad users gained access to a private field, before driving around and destroying crops.

The incident occurred in Bassetlaw.

East Bassetlaw Police, which covers the area where the incident occurred, has released images of persons of interest via social media.

The images show quads being driven around a field.

In a post on Facebook, police said they wish to speak to a group of individuals after crops were destroyed on a farm.

According to police, it was reported that unknown offenders gained access to private farmland at Gamston Road in the town of Bothamsall, before driving round and damaging a large quantity of crops.

It is believed the incident happened on Friday, July25, between 8.30p.m and 11.30p.m.

The authorities are asking anyone who might recognise the individuals in the images to come forward with the information.

The investigating officer, PC Hollie Marsh, said: “Damage like this can cause farmers to suffer thousands of pounds worth of loss, and we want the rural community to know that we treat incidents like this very seriously and are determined to catch those responsible.”

“Do you know the individuals in the images? Are you one of the people in the images? We’d encourage anyone who can help to call us on 101 quoting incident number 153 of [July 25] 2025 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111,” PC Marsh added.

Crop damage from quads

This is not the first time the north Nottinghamshire area has seen crop damage resulting from quads.

In late 2023, Nottinghamshire Police appealed for information regarding the damaging of crops from quad bikes on a farm in the area.

At the time, the Nottinghamshire rural crime team said the farm suffered “thousands of pounds of damage to the crops which will not grow back”.
