Tullamore Show

Organisers have said that in the dog section there is even a class for the ‘waggiest’ tail. The sheep section will host the largest number of classes with every sheep breed on show with a new class this year for the Valais Blacknose.

The FBD National Livestock Show is the main part of the show with all breeds represented showcasing the finest of livestock.

Tullamore Show held a manual handlers’ learning day last April at Tullamore Mart. Eager young handlers converged on Tullamore from all over the country to learn the art of handling livestock whether sheep or cattle.

The equine section has classes from mare and foal to the family pony section which is a favourite with parents and grandparents.

The All-Ireland Pig of the Year will be the highlight of that section where visitors are urged to go see all the goats from goatlings, kids to adults.

Among some of the other highlights will be the baking demonstrations in the Odlums Pavilion with Aisling Larkin and Adrian Martin in the Food Fair.

The Clara Band will lead the parade to the official opening stand. Dance the afternoon away on the dance floor to Patrick Feeney and the many music acts or just sit, listen and take a breather and be ready to continue to view all that is to see on the showground.

Over 750 trade stands are already booked in to exhibit at the one-day show.
