Zetor Tractors is expanding its product portfolio with the new Series 5 model range, consisting of four-cylinder tractors with outputs from 102hp to 122hp.

The prototype of the new tractor will make its first public appearance on May 23–24 at the Polish exhibition Zielone AGRO SHOW.

Zetor has said that the new tractors are aimed primarily at farmers and agricultural businesses looking for a “robust, mechanically simple and universally usable tractor for everyday operations”.

The tractors are aimed at work such as front loader work and livestock farming, transport, field work and municipal applications.

CEO of Zetor Tractors, Robert Harman said: “Series 5 represents exactly the type of tractor many customers are looking for today – a robust, mechanical and operationally efficient machine without unnecessary complexity.

“Our goal was to bring a tractor offering high utility value, simple servicing and parameters matching the needs of European farmers.”

New Zetor range

The company has said that the new model range builds on Zetor’s long-standing experience in the 100–125hp tractor segment.

Compared to the former PROXIMA range, it is described as offering a more robust construction, higher operating weight, a more powerful hydraulic system and higher rear linkage lifting capacity.

These parameters improve tractor stability, payload capacity and overall usability in practical operation.

From summer onwards, the Series 5 will consist of three models with outputs of 102hp, 113hp, and 122hp.

The tractors will be powered by four-cylinder FPT engines which adhere to Stage V emission standards, equipped with Common Rail injection and a DPF particulate filter.

The 5100 model with 102hp will be equipped with a basic mechanical transmission featuring 24 forward and 24 reverse gears in three working ranges, including a mechanical reverser and mechanical splitter.

The 5110 and 5120 models with outputs of 113hp and 122hp will feature a more comfortable transmission variant with the same number of forward and reverse gears.

Additionally this model will be equipped with a PowerShuttle reverser and a two-stage PowerShift splitter with the maximum design speed of 40km/h.

The hydraulic system reportedly will offer four rear hydraulic circuits, pump output of 65L/min (model 5100) or 80L/min (models 5110 and 5120), and an electrohydraulically controlled rear three-point linkage with a maximum lifting capacity of 4,500kg on the 5100 model and 5,500kg on the 5110 and 5120 models.

The cab will offer an ergonomic operator workplace, good visibility, intuitive controls and comfort features including air conditioning, according to Zetor.

Collaboration

The new model range was developed in cooperation with Hattat Traktor, a tractor manufacturer with extensive original equipment manufacturer (OEM) production experience for global agricultural machinery brands such as John Deere, Valtra and Massey Ferguson.

“Modern agricultural machinery development is now based on combining experience, technologies and strong manufacturing partnerships,” Harman added.

“Our goal was to return the ZETOR brand to this key performance segment as quickly as possible and offer customers not only a robust, technically proven and affordable solution, but also a very strong service network and excellent spare parts availability.”

Within the project, ZETOR focused primarily on the final tractor configuration for European markets, testing in real operating conditions.

Sales are scheduled to begin in the summer of this year, several months ahead of the original plan.
